Although we didn't meet Kathy personally, her sister Jean Ann is our good friend. Jean Ann often spoke of her sister's courage and determination with such pride and admiration. May those memories always be a source of strength for the family.
I was sad to find that Kathy had passed away so young. I meet Kathy at the University of Guelph. She was a delight to be around and it was an honour to have been in her life for a few years.
Kathy's courage, kindness to others, and positive outlook was so inspiring, despite such a difficult journey. My thoughts and prayers are with you Joan and Jean Ann ... may happy memories sustain you during this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of working with Kathy for many years at Encore. No matter how difficult the business day might have been, Kathy's smile and positive attitude never failed to make the day a little better. I know that Christmas was Kathy's favourite time of year (loved her collection of Christmas sweaters!) and as such realize that this will be a very difficult Christmas for Kathy's family...My condolences to all of you on your loss.
I am a journalist at The Review and had the pleasure of meeting Kathy and Joan for a story I was working on. The day I met Kathy, she had made a plate of cookies for our interview, something she hadn't been able to do in years. It was a joy to be able to share those cookies with her. She touched my heart and my life in a way I cannot explain or described. She is in my thoughts and prayers, as is her mother, Joan, an amazing, courageous and beautiful woman. Many blessings and lots of love.
