Dear Louise and family know that we are thinking of you at this time and always. We do trust that the many good memories of Bernie will bring a smile as you remember him and knowing his spirit is with you always. Thinking of you with love Bob & Lil
Dear Cathy, You were indeed blessed to have been a huge part of your Dad's life for so many years.....I know you will always hold your memories dear to your heart. Thinking of you at this time Cathy and your family. Love Jude
One of my earliest and fondest memories of Uncle Bern was in 1959 when I turned 16 and had just passed my drivers license test. I drove with my parents to Montreal from Windsor Ont. arriving at 24 Galt St. and running up those stairs to be greeted with a big bear hug from Bernie. What a feeling when I saw the activity of that family when I went inside, quite amazing for an only child. Bernie was doing the cooking and I will always remember his explaining how to cook the perfect ham. We had a wonderful time and it was my first experience of witnessing sibling rivalry. Watching Bern and Louise handle that potpourri of children is a memory I will never forget and often thought of when bringing up our own 2 boys. The family was Bernie's greatest joy and his enduring legacy. He has imparted his thoughtful loving ways to each and everyone of them, and oh yes, a loyalty to the Boston Bruins.
There is no amount of time or words that can be used to describe how much you mean to us Grandpa. You were a huge part of me from a very young age and your lessons will shine through me for years to come. The love you bestowed on your family and friends is a truly unique and amazing thing. Wether you were jumping into the pool fully clothed or sitting in the den with a nice drink and sharing stories of your life shows that you were both the life of the party and the greatest listener. I can still remember the excitement I felt wether it was us pulling into your driveway or you and Grandma walking off the plane, I knew I was in for some fun! You are a remarkable man and a true war hero, but you are also my hero. I hope that one day people will have half of these things to say about me. Although you have taken the next step in our infinite journey you shall still be missed tremendously. But I know this is not the end, we shall see each other somewhere sometime and it will be like it was only yesterday when we shared our last hug. I love you very much and you will be with us all in our hearts and in our souls forever. Have fun Grandpa, and don't forget to shine a little bit of your light down on us from time to time. With everlasting love Jeremy Redmond

Dear Cathy, Brian, Kaela and Andrea Thinking of you during this very difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Kim, Dave, Nicola, Hannah, Liam and Tanner XOXO
I called him "Dad" because he was my father-in-law. But in reality he was my very good friend. And like good friends, we would talk about politics, religion, sports, movies, music, history... you name it... and we could disagree and agree about all of those things. We had vastly different experiences of the world and often enormously different tastes, but we shared a love and admiration for each other that never dimmed. I introduced him to my bizarre taste in movies, often wondering (sometimes out loud) what the heck I just made him watch. And Dad introduced me to good Irish whiskey and scotch, which we sometimes shared to celebrate an Alouettes win. I admired his strong faith, his unfailing honesty, and his infinite love for family. Everyone who met Dad, loved him. Most likely because he was kind and generous, and always had a twinkle in his eye. He could be mischievous and display a wicked sense of humour, and he could tell you stories about the war that gave you pause one moment and had you laughing the next. And Dad was always interested in you. Even during his last days, when he was not well, he would always, always ask how I was doing and if I was busy at work. Well, Dad, yes I'm busy and you're my inspiration to keep working hard just like you did for your family. So long my friend. I will miss you forever.

Cathy, we are so sorry for your loss, we know how dear your father was to you and your family. We both know what it's like to lose a wonderful father and it was a great comfort knowing that they were no longer suffering. Dear Mrs. Redmond , Cathy & Family I was saddened to hear the news of Mr. Redmonds passing from my folks and I wish I could be with you in person to celebrate his life and memories . Mr.Redmond lived his life guided by his deep faith and love for his family which he demonstrated with his devotion to Mrs. Redmond and his children and grandchildren . As I reflected on my memories , one keeps coming back , how we would all sit together on Good Friday and wait to place an order for Chinese food after the clock struck 12 , and sitting around the kitchen table , celebrating we had made it thru Lent and the struggles to live up to our goals . Cathy , I realize this must be a very difficult time for you , but be strong and use your faith as your father taught you to do , and cherish his memories as a great Dad and Grandfather . You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love Kevin

Bernie, rest in a well deserved peace in our good Lord's Arms and know that you were and are loved by all of us. Affectionately Bob&Lil Lil
Many years ago I realized what a fortunate person I was. A fantastic wife ( thanks Dad, you had something to do with that ) along with two of the most beautiful daughters a man could ever dream of having. None of this would have been, had it not been for people like my Father-in-Law, Bernie Redmond who fought so hard for our freedom. I made it a point of calling him every year shortly after the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month to thank him for all he sacrificed. One Remembrance Day I found myself having dinner with Bernie, Louise, Bernie's brother Bob and myself. The three men sat at the dinner table after supper and I listened to story after story of some of Bernie's happiest and saddest moments of the war. I have never sat in a chair for hour after hour ( and beer after beer ! ) and laughed and cried so much. One of my favorites was the time the tank battalion entered a town after pushing the enemy out and Bernie turned the turret of his tank 90 degrees to the right and as he drove the tank up and over the porch of a house, the barrel ripped off the complete front half, doors, windows and all. If there is such a thing, that was a great hangover !
Dad, I know you carried the memories of the war heavy in your heart , again, I thank you so much for all you did.
Love Brian.
