We are saddened to announce the death of Victor Omer Landriault (June 11, 1922 – Aug. 21, 2014) at Hawkesbury General Hospital after a brief illness. He is the beloved husband, of 65 years, of Doris (Stuart) Landriault. Ever loving father to Michelle (Denis Seguin) and Joe (Jane Kelly). Caring grandfather: Spud to Gabriel (Diane Lingley) and Luc (Joan Mercurio); Opi to Amanda, Ashley, Mark; Patate to Melissa and Nicholas (Lisa McMachen). Gentle GG to Chase, Little Victor & Andrew. Vic was the 6th child of Omer and Amanda of North Bay, Ontario. He is predeceased by his siblings: Leonard, Jean-Paul (Eileen Thompson), Bernadette (Cleo Lemieux), Thérèse (Andrew Terejko), Sister Rita of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin, and his younger brother & devoted sports partner, Horace known as Joe. Vic is survived by his lovely sister-in-law Diane (Horace); loyal in-laws Shirley-Mae Stuart-Horester; Brian Stuart (Gaye); plus five nephews and 12 nieces never far away in Canada and the U.S. He is fondly remembered by his golf buddies. His studies, and his stick-handling, took him from the North Bay Trappers to McGill to Queen’s to the Ottawa U Gee-Gees winning the Memorial Cup. He became known as “Bud” to his co-workers at Atlas Construction, Montreal during his 40 year career, 1948-1988. He continued consulting in heavy construction until 1996. He rose from surveyor to project manager to Director & Vice-president of Atlas. We loved him. We listened to him - “Go slow.” He is back on the ice now, blades sharpened, tapping his stick impatient for the long pass.
