Dan was a wonderful man and a great guy to know it was my pleasure to work on the executive of the Canadian Fleet Maintenance Seminar for several years along side Dan. Dan travelled down from Ottawa to the GTA for our monthly meetings and always brought an idea or suggestion as to how to make the CFMS better. No matter the situation Dan could clearly see a solution and articulate to the group what needed to be done and when. Dan was quick to pick up the heavy lifting and lead by example.

Always a true Freind with an open mind and ear to listen to others concerns.

It is a dear loss to us and the neighbourhood. Marjane is very sad today ! Dan made us all feel very welcome at Checkers road. We enjoyed many a fence-side chat. From day one of moving in in Dec 2008, i competed w his snow shoveling and lawn care skills. He gave me lots of valued and appreciated advice on home issues. He was always a smiling face for us, especially when the kids would grow up traipsing the path to the cookie jar next door ! What great memories he has given us all.

Our deepest condolences to Sybil,Cathy, and Mark. I have fond memories of good times spent together hunting. Danny was one of the good guys and there are way too few of them around. He will be really missed.

Mr Henderson (I could never bring myself to call him “Danny”, even after I ‘grew up’) has just always been there. He was at the arena or on the bench for pretty much every hour of hockey I ever played. Sometimes after a game a bunch of us girls and parents would go back to the Hendersons and visit in the rec room for a while - those were fun times! I managed to clock a fair number of hours on the snowmobile trail with him too, back in the day. I don’t know how we all fit hockey AND snowmobiling into those winters, but we did it. In more recent years, I’d run into Mr Henderson at our family cottage in Lanark. If I was able to visit the cottage at deer hunting, he’d always be there with moose stew! And I couldn’t even count how many times he was at the cottage to help my Dad out with the various repairs and chores that would pop up. Mr Henderson has been a part of my life… for my whole life. He has always been a wonderful, kind, patient and entertaining (!) friend to our whole family. To say we will miss him doesn’t even come close. To Cathy and Denise, Mark and Lisa and family, and Mrs Henderson - my heart is breaking for you all. How I wish I could be there with you in these hours. Please accept my deepest, deepest sympathy on the loss of such an amazing father, grandfather, and husband.
