Obituary of Daniel James Henderson

Henderson, Daniel James (Retired- Supervisor of Equipment & Fleet Services Manager for City of Ottawa) (President of Ottawa-Carleton Pensioners Association) Peacefully with his family by his side on Monday July 31, 2017 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital Dan Henderson's bright beautiful blue eyes faded away at the age of 80. Loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Sybil (née Wright). Dearly loved father of Catherine (Denise Collins) of Orleans and Mark (Lisa) of Vankleek Hill. Especially proud and wonderful Grandpa of Devin (Samantha Stephen) and Paige (Ken Boyd). Dear brother of Joan Page, Larry (Diane) and Sharon Ralph (Bill). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Dan enjoyed golfing, hunting, cars, attending to his garden and the odd trip to the casino. He will be sadly missed by his many friends, especially his Tuesday Golf Buddies. The neighbours will miss his advice and helping hands.The neighbourhood children will always remember “Mr. Cookie” for making his delicious homemade cookies for their daily treats. Family and friends may visit at Tubman Funeral Homes Westboro Chapel 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa on Thursday August 3, 2017 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service on Friday August 4,2017 at 11 am at Tubman Funeral Homes Westboro Chapel. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa followed by a reception at the Pinecrest Remembrance Services Reception Hall.
