I’m so sorry to hear of Basil’s passing. He always had such a cheerful disposition, always cracking jokes. I have good memories of taking my girls to visit and ride horses and adopting a sweet feral barn cat (that my daughter named Fonzie Macaroni), as well as the card games and trip to Nova Scotia my sister mentioned. We will miss the loss of a dear family friend. With deepest sympathy,
Karen (MacDonald) Haig

Peggy, Ken, and all the family please accept our deepest condolences. We are thinking of you during this difficult time.
Sending my most heartfelt condolences to the McFadden family at this sad time. I have so many wonderful memories of Basil from when our families would get together. I always loved his humorous approach to life; he had a joke in his pocket for every occasion and always made me laugh. I loved it when he was our bus driver for school field trips! I will always remember that summer in Nova Scotia, staying up late laughing and playing cards, especially Hockey. Basil will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Sending big hugs to you all!
Sending sincerest sympathies and hugs to all of you during this difficult time xxoo
Our deepest sympathy to your family. May your memories sustain you during these difficult days

Please accept our deepest condolences. Only great memories of Basil. He brought the best out in me and was a great friend and mentor.
I always enjoyed talking to Basil. He use to poke fun at my (very) British accent. And he loved to tell me that his mother was from Norfolk. I remember him as a very gentle person who was always ready to share a joke or have a bit of fun. I made the mistake of throwing a snowball at him once - I missed - he didn't - he was an excellent shot. David Grattan
