Condolences
A Tree of Remembrance was planted by Mark and Lisa Henderson and the staff of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
We'll miss our easy conversations with Blake while walking our dogs around the lake. Blake was interested in many topics and we could stand in the road talking for hours while the dogs waited patiently for us to move on. We're glad we had a chance to see him when he last visited the cottage. We will always have fond memories of him and his warm smile. Our condolences to Jeanne and the rest of the family. Remembering Blake
It’s not an easy thing to do justice in a few words to a friendship that has existed for close to seventy years. Classmates at Westmount Senior High in the ‘Fifties’ and graduating from Bishop’s together in 1959.
There were some serious gaps of years between then and now where we were not in touch. That didn’t seem to matter: whenever we reconnected it was instantaneous picking up and carrying on.
Beeker, as I liked to call him, was a pal. A friend without pretention. One knew he cared about his friends by the way he lit up in your company: the intensity of his attention, and the way he listened so actively. He loved to laugh and his fulsome guffaws filled whatever space he occupied.
Besides our friendship, another love we shared was moules et frites. Judy and I well remember several dinners at Restaurent L’Actuel on Dominion Square in Montreal where we, together with Celie and Blake, made mountains of mussels disappear…washed down with appropriate Belgian beer.
Our last outing together was to Hudson, Quebec a couple of years ago, to the Village Theatre where Blake and Jeanne joined Judy & me and fellow Bishopites Peter (& Maja) Blaikie and Bruce (& Maureen) Prentice for a matinee and supper following. Beeker’s smile and demeanor left no doubt that this, for him, was a ‘red letter day’.
Great memories, old pal. You’ll be missed.

Good memories of Mr. Beamer, from LRHS days. English department, if memory serves me correctly. Sincere condolences to his family.
Dear Jeanne.
It is with sadness that we heard of Blake,s passing. The last time that we saw you both was on the cruise ship and
before that at the air port.I shared many years with Blake teaching at L.R.H.S.A wonderful man with a hardy laugh.
We were always concerned about our shoes and how well they were polished
We wish you all the best and good health.

So sad to read of Blake's passing. He was unquestionably one of my favourite teachers. We shared a love of folk music, often staying after school to sing and play, along with Geoff Thomas. We would have conversations about his farm in Vankleek Hill and his life there. He was the first person I ever met who made his own yogurt! I am so sorry for your loss, Jeannet. My condolences to you and your family. He was a wonderful man, who lived a good life. R.I.P. Mr. Beamer
My condolences to the family. He was a great man. I will miss him.

An amazing educator. Mr Beamer was a true gentleman.
I had the privilege of seeing him again at the 2018 LRHS reunion and it was so heartwarming. I will always remember his approachable demeanour, his friendly and encouraging banter, and the mutual respect between fellow students and Mr. Beamer. “For those who grieve, time is too long, For those who rejoice, time is too short. For those who love, time is eternal.”
So sorry to hear this sad news
What a wonderful friendly man
..always smiling
My deepest sympathies to you Jeannette and your family
Dear Jeannette & Family. We are thinking of you all with deepest sympathies at this sad time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
