Very sorry to hear of Johns passing. I was always interested in his golf history during the many conversations I had with him during my tenure as golf pro at Glengarry golf club in the early 2000s. A true gentleman.

Audrey and I send our sincere sympathy to Madeleine and family on the death of John. When I arrived in Alexandria in 1991, I met John at the Glengarry Golf Course and we enjoyed many games which included Arthur Lamb. At one point we ran the Senator's Golf league. He took after his father in that he refitted golf clubs which he did for me on many occasions. He was good to spot golf balls on the course and I often bought some from him.

I have many good memories of John. John and I started golfing together around 2015. For the next several years we spent most summer mornings together. I met Cathy and played with Peter on several occasions. John loved to be on the course. I can honestly say we never had a bad day. I miss my time with him. John had several hole and ones and often told me he hoped to be there when I got my first. To date I have none but if I ever get one I know he will be there. My heart goes out to his partner and his family. He often spoke fondly of his family, or as fondly as two guys can on the course. Glengarry Golf and Country club has a tournament named after him. He was a kind, supportive friend. Stand tall and swing slow John.
