Obituary of William Harold Lawford

William (Bill) Lawford P. ENG., CHEM Died, early Thursday morning, November 14 2013, surrounded by his family at the May Court Hospice in Ottawa, after a short battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 49 years Robbie (Allen). Loving father of Andrew (Jacqueline), Chris (Amber), and their youngest son Ian. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kieran, Anna-Lise, Amy, Grace, Molly and Liam. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Gladys and his sisters Ruth (Howard), Rheda (Bert) and Lois (Frank). Bill was born in Smiths Falls and went on to complete a chemical engineering degree at Queen’s University. In his early years Bill went on to work in Chalk River Ontario, and England, eventually settling in Hawkesbury working for Canadian International Paper Research. In retirement Bill led a simple life, spending many hours on his hobby farm, geocaching, curling with the Vankleek Hill Curling Club and a variety of outdoor activities. He will be missed by all those he touched. Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 22nd from 1-2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church 166 John Street, Hawkesbury followed by a Funeral Service being celebrated at 2 p.m. Interment Hillside Cemetery followed by a time of fellowship in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to May Court Hospice Ottawa 114 Cameron St., Ottawa, ON K1S 0X1 or the Easters Seals of Ontario 1101 Prince of Wales Dr. Ottawa, ON K2C 3W7.
