Bob was truly the founder of the Respiratory Therapy Service at The Montreal Children's Hospital and among the very first to bring mechanical respirators to the bedside for the benefit of patients . He operated them , taught others how to use them , repaired them , and came in to the ward at any time of day or night , in any weather , on any day of the year to assist , to repair , to help - all for the benefit of a child in distress. He was a role model for everyone looking after sick children, and he taught countless professionals. from respiratory therapists , to nurses , students ,residents and staff doctors. His competence , dedication , generosity ,sensitivity to the needs of others , and his reliability helped to make The Children's thee great place it is .
Thinking of you and wishing you and your family comfort at this sad time.
You've earned your place in heaven dad,
After alll that you've been through
I wish I could have helped you
but there was nothing I could do.
Peacefully sleeping now out of pain
I would not wake you up to suffer again.
Dear family - I am 86 years old and the oldest of the Baker clan. I would love to be there with you to celebrate Bobby's life, but the distance makes it impossible. My sympathies are with you all. Love Norma
My condolences to the family. Travel is beyond me at this time because of my health. My thoughts are with all of you
Sherrill & family - We feel a great loss in our hearts with Bob gone. Although the miles apart were great, our love was always there. It is with regret that we will not be able to attend the service on Friday but will offer a moment of prayer at one PM in bob's honour. Bob was a great influence in my childhood. He was the best, offering me (Ron) his advice and some small gift of money when he could. I was fortunate to be able to spend some of his last hours with him. Love Jan & Ron
Dear Sherrill and family,
My sincerest condolences on your recent loss. I was so saddened to learn of Bob's passing. I have very fond memories of Bob and the years we worked together at the Children's. He was not only my mentor but a father figure during the very early years of my career.
It is a fact that Bob, with all his wisdom, advanced the development of the Respiratory Therapy profession in Quebec starting with nothing but his relentless commitment to make a difference in the lives of sick children.
I am thankful and blessed for having had the opportunity to work along side him. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sherrill & family So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. Allan & Naomi
