Obituary of Margaret Mary Evoy

Evoy, Margaret Mary Margaret Mary Evoy (née Jessup), born in Ottawa, November 23, 1919, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 13, 2017 at Stonehaven Manor, Kanata. Margaret was the beloved wife and best friend to Nelson for 79 years.  They recently were honoured as Canada's longest married couple. A family woman, through and through, she devoted her time, energy and most of all, love and care to her five children:  Peggy Ann Keddy (the late Sonny), William (the late Shirley), Suzanne Sheppard (Ian), Robert and Pam.  Margaret was predeceased by her infant son Gary. Fondly remembered by close family friend Olive Trudeau. Her family life extended into several generations.  Mom had 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was loving and present to each and every one of them. Margaret leaves a vast void in a large family who loved her. Heartfelt thanks to each of the many caring staff at Stonehaven Manor, Dr. Shukle, and the palliative care team, especially Susann, who helped mom and each of the family, during this journey. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 10 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11 am a.m. in the church.  A Reception will follow the funeral in the church hall. Spring Interment St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, South March. In memory of Margaret a donation to the Primates World Relief and Development Fund 80 Hayden Street, Toronto, Ontario M4Y 3G2 or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
