Aunt Edna, I cherish the memories of the summers I spent with you and Uncle Herbie at the farm in Pointe-Aux-Chenes. I remember sometimes Lynda would play the guitar on the balcony and sing with us. Uncle Herbie would sing Wabash Cannon Ball. They were such good times. I know you are finally reunited with the love of your life, Uncle Herbie. I am very happy I got to see you a couple of months ago in Van Kleek Hill with mom and dad and Uncle Hughie. You recognized me when I said I was your favourite great niece, and I thought that was so cute. I'm sorry I couldn't be there Saturday, but I know that you know I was thinking of everyone. I will always remember you and the little finger toasts you cut for me for breakfast. Thank you for all those fantastic great times. Love you. xxoo
Edna was a a loving grandmother to my daughters Lauren and Kendall. She always took delight in their twin antics, and loved to spend time with them and they with her. She embodied all the beautiful qualities of a loving grandmother including patience and kindness, and always had a way of peacefulness and serene acceptance about her. The girls and I remember her very fondly and am thankful for the gifts she brought into our lives.
It's never easy to lose a loved one especially a parent or grandparent, but it always helps to think back and remember the beauty in their lives and what they brought to your life and Edna brought much to us in the beauty of our loving soul. May she rest in peace.
To the family of Edna Brown- you are not alone in your sadness for Edna meant so much to so many and will be deeply missed. Edna was a wonderful friend and I think of her often - Annie Barton (Heritage Lodge) and her daughters Helen and Mary
Dear Layden, Linda and families: I know that no words can help ease the pain and loss that you are feeling right now. In your grief and loss, it’s the little things; the small everyday occurrences that we will all remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles, the kindness and gentleness of Aunt Edna’s soul. I love this poem, it holds a special place in my heart and hope it will in yours too. When I am gone, release me; let me go When I am gone, release me; let me go I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that we had so many years I gave you love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love each has shown but now it is time I traveled alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It is only for a while that we must part so bless those memories within your heart. I will not be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near, And if you listen with your heart, you will hear. All of my love around you, soft and clear. Then when you must come this way alone, I will greet you with a smile and a welcome home. XXXXX Kenda.
To the immediate family; My sincere sympathy on the loss of your Mother, sister and aunt. She was a wonderful person and she will be missed by all of those who knew her. Edna stands as an example of a life lived graciously, with generosity, humour, and kindness. I hope your memories will help you through this difficult time. With best wishes, Heather Walker
She Is Gone (He Is Gone)
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Fly
Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this memory bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

Mom….How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight.
You were a wonderful mother,
You'll hold a spot down deep in my heart,
'Till the stars no longer shine.
Your soul shall live on forever,
On through the fields of time.
For there'll never be another to me,
Like that wonderful Mother of mine.
Your loving & devoteful Son.
I love you Mom to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight.
Layden
