Dear Debbie & Wayne ~ We were so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing and are thinking of you both during this trying time. It will be tough for a while but you are both strong and you'll get through this! We have so many memories of you two growing up across the street from us and, of course, Shirley, striding across Grout St. to visit, with a beer in hand. We had some great times at Half Moon Lake too - learning to waterski with Carlotta, thanks to Doug & Mac being so patient with us! Shirley always had lots of goodies on hand for such visits. My favourite treats were her chocolate chip squares - I never could make them as well as she did!!! Now maybe your Mom and my Mom can make soup for all the little kids in heaven??

Couldn't begin to tell you of the many wonderful visits and campfire celebrations we enjoyed with Doug and Shirley up at Half-Moon. It was always like "Home away from home." The laughter and the songs would drift across the lake until the wee hours of the morning, and Shirley's fires could be seen in Brownsburg!
