Dear Jeff , Stephanie, Liam, Pat and family, Yesterday I heard the devastating news of Kim's passing. I worked for many years alongside Kim and Pat and when I heard of the news my heart broke. Words can't express or convey how saddened I am for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this extremely hard time.
So sad to hear of Kim's death. Have the best memories of spending time together when we were little. Prayers to the entire family
Mrs Coons, Janie, Patty ,Carol, Jeff and family, I wanted to let you know that my heart is with you in these difficult times.May the love and laughter you all shared be a source of strength for you in the times to come.
I worked with Kim at Curves. She was such a thoughtful, caring bubbly person that words cannot express my sadness. We (staff and members) miss her desperately and my heart is aching for the family. May all of the warmth and kind words for her help you to remember all of the wonderful memories. May she rest in peace and finally be without pain.

On behalf of the Russell Soccer Club, I would like to express sincere condolences on the loss of a valued member of the community. Our thoughts are with the family.
Kim, I will miss your smiley, cheery face at Curves, Montreal Rd. Although I knew you for only a short period, you made a big impression on me. You always had time to ask about my daughter & were especially interested in her puppy's welfare. You often talked about your own dog & shared that love of animals with her.
Rest in peace, Kim. My sincere condolences to your husband & children & your extended family.
Dear Jeff and Family,Today I read the sad news of Kim's passing. Jeff it's been a long time since our days at P.C.P.S.- you and Kim as students and I a Teacher.Hear are some of my memories of Kim.Kim Coons, Tammy LaSalle, Joan Rivington, Heather Baker, and Karen Graham-the mighty P.C.P.S. starting five basketball team.It was the beginning of our ventures to play city teams and our first victims were Greenbank Middle School and St. Paul's Catholic School in Ottawa.Kim had been struggling with making her lay ups mainly because she was releasing the ball with too much force."Kim," I'd say, "think soft and easy on the backboard." Well, it wasn't long before Kim caught on and once she did from then on every time Kim had a break away lay up I'd hear her say out loud in her "whispery" voice " soft and easy on the back board." Then as the ball would softly fall into the net she'd turn to me at the bench with a smile as big as the Mississippi and say " how was that?" "Perfect" I'd say, "perfect." These are memories that will be mine to keep- of Kim playing basketball, her smile and sense of humour, those freckles and her beautiful red hair. To you Jeff, your children, the Coon's and Dupelle families my sincerest sympathies on the loss of Kim. Sid MacCallum
Dear Jeff & family, the Coon's & Dupelle families I was deeply saddened to learn about the death of Kim. There are no words to express my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I have very fond memories of both you and Kim during our high school years. Kim's smile and laugh will always be with us. Jeff, I know what it's like to loose a loved one, my husband passed away last year...the memories truly become treasures....May the love of family & friends comfort you.
My deepest sympathies to both the Coons and Dupelle families, I am so sorry for your loss.
I have known Kim for 10 years(plus some)from meeting at school, out on the walking trail, and out doing errands. With Kim, there was always time for a friend! We`d spend 15 minutes sharing stories - mostly "light bragging" about our kids (I must admit). Kim`s genuine, caring heart touched mine in friendship. I have been so blessed to have known her. Rest Peacefully, my friend.
Sorry to hear about your loss, our hearts go out to you and your family
Dear Jeff, Liam and Stephanie, Our hearts go out to you. There is barely an hour that goes by without us thinking of you. Please know that we are here if you need us. Anytime, any day. May Kim Rest In Peace.
Kim and I were in the same group of nurses who oriented at the General Hospital in 1989. Both young and new to the profession. We worked together for a few years in Orthopedics and Neurology. It was easy to feel such admiration for her professionalism, work ethic, and positive attitude no matter what challenges she faced. Although we went in different directions, I have often thought of Kim, especially when passing through VanKleek Hill, and wondered how she was doing. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. I will always remember Kim and how beautiful she will always be.
We are so very sorry at the news of your loss. Kim's great smile and friendly greetings ("Hey Hon! How ya doin?") will be remembered by so many. We are thinking of you Jeff, Stephanie, Liam and Janie.
Dear Coons & Dupelle Families, We are thinking of all of you with deepest sympathy at this sad time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Ian and Jean
Our hearts ache for your loss. Kim was such a beautiful woman inside and out. Never without a smile, she would always stop and chat and ask us how our families were doing. On the outside she was bubbly and fun and full of life - on the inside she was battling something few have experienced so deep. Our hearts go out to her family; and to Jeff, Stephanie and Liam. She had a wonderful and genuine spirit and may the happy memories live in your heart forever.
As so many have already written, we are shocked and saddened to hear this news about Kim. We have so many memories in the six years we were blessed to call Kim our neighbour. Our children loved to see Kim and "Jack" on their frequent walks and Kim would always stop to let them pet Jack and give him the treat found in Kim's pocket. She always had a smile and would share the latest news about Liam and Stephanie; she was such a proud mom. Her infectious smile and warm personality has been passed on to her children who never walk by our home without saying hello. We couldn't have had a better neighbour and Forced Road won't be the same without her smiling face. We are thinking of you Jeff, Stephanie, Liam and Mrs. Moffat.
Dear Jeff, Stephanie and Liam, When we moved to Forced Road we were so blessed to have met Kim and the family - including extended family! The many times we chatted allowed us to get to know Kim as a loving, caring mother, professional nurse and a good friend and neighbour who made us feel so welcome. Kim always shared a laugh and had a kind word for our children. We are truly and deeply saddened to hear of Kim's passing. With love from the Zimmermanns.
A la famille, Nous partageons votre douleur et vous transmettons nos sincères condoléances. Nos prières sont avec vous, Claude et Christiane

Joyce and family The thoughts of myself and family are with you and yours at this t time of tragity.Kim was classmate of my son steven. We lost my brotherinlaw Myles Edwards to similar circumstances but being older makes it seem not as bad as yours Bill Anderson.
Dear Pat and the Coons and Dupelle families, I wanted you to know how saddened we were to hear of Kim's passing. This last week has brought us tears, laughter and many good memories of such a special person. She was a great ray of sunshine you seemed to always be drawn to. Please know that her ICU family has fond memories of a great Nurse, collegue and friend. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Dear Jeff, Steph and Liam: We are heartbroken over the news of Kim's passing. She was a loving, generous and special person and we will surely miss her presence. Our hearts and our thoughts are with all of you. Be strong - bon courage.
Our deepest condolences go out to Jeff, Stephanie and Liam. We are profoundly saddened by your loss. We have spent many hockey seasons with Kim...and she will always be remembered by us as a supportive, loving and enthusiastic hockey mom.
Dear Jeff and Family; Mrs Coons and Family Jeff & Family, I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Although, it has been a long time since we have been in touch, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Our deepest sympathy to your family, and the Coons Family at this very difficult time. Take care.
I was deeply saddened when I heard about Kim's passing. She was always such a bright and sunny person, always happy to see you and welcome you. Her homemade bread and jam that always appeared at our doorstep at Christmas time was just one of the many small things that she did to bring a smile to other people. I remember sharing a cup of tea and trading dog stories, walks in the woods and chats in each others driveway. She was our dog Braker's favourite "other mom" and he has never gotten over the appearance of "jack" -- the "other dog" in his mind!! We always hoped we would meet Kim in the woods on our walks because she never failed to have treats hidden in her pockets. Our thoughts go out to you. Please know that you are in our thoughts and Kim will be forever remembered for the wonderful woman that she was. She will be missed.
To: Joyce, Margaret, Laurier and families. it is with the deepest of sadness that we heard of Kim's passing. May you find comfort in all the good memories you have of her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.
I was very fortunate and blessed to have met Kim at the Curves' Gym on Montreal rd in Ottawa. In a very short time, much too short, I had the pleasure to befriend this cheerful, funny, generous woman. I enjoyed working out when she was there and share with her pleasant conversations. Her passing has terribly saddened me and I will truly miss her presence at our club. My prayers are with her family. Rest in peace, dear Kim, may God keep you.
Jeff, it's difficult to know what to say in these difficult times. I, like others, have fond memories of our times at VCI, and remember Kim's bubbly personality. Although I have not seen her in many years, I'm sure she will be missed by her family and friends. Be well.
Jeff; I was saddened to hear about Kim. Although much time has past since the days in the "hill" the memories of you and Kim are very strong. Many great memories. Her smile and laugh is unforgetable. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family!
Dear Jeff and family; Mrs. Coons and family We were so sorry to learn of Kim's passing. Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad and difficult time.
I worked with Kim at Curves in Ottawa. She was a wonderful and caring person. I really enjoyed working with her. She always greeted members with her warm smile and cheerful demeanor. Our most sincere sympathy to Jeff, Stephanie and Liam. Our small neighbourhood has been touched by a great heart who brought joy to so many. May her light shine eternally. Our thoughts are with you all.
I'm so saddened and shocked at the news of Kim's untimely death. I only knew Kim from meeting her at Curves doing our workouts. She was always a sunny, cheerful lovely person and I so enjoyed our "dog" chats. We enjoyed exchanging stories about our dogs. It was lovely when she started working at Curves and still got to see her at the Embrun Club. My sincere condolences to her family and close friends. We have all lost a lovely caring person. Lean on the happy memories to help ease the pain of her passing.
Jeff: It is with great sadness that I lear'nt of Kim's passing. Although it has been a long-time since our basketball days, putting-up with Mitchell & Chops ad nausea and our daily drive to and forth Ivaco with no air-conditioning, I have fond memories of you and Kim. I always see your Mom & Dad a couple of times of year at Church when I am down in VKH and of course and am able to catch up with you and Danny through them. My heart and Prayers and the Redmond family's Heart & Prayers are with you, your children, the Dupelle and Coons family during this time.
Jeff, Stephanie, Liam, Mrs. Coons, Mrs. Moffat and family: Our deepest sympathies and warmest thoughts are with you all at this time and always. Kim was a terrific person who radiated warmth, kindness and a true love of family. I will sincerely miss bumping into her around town and catching up from where we last left off. Please accept our condolences on behalf of myself & Serge, Barry Tribble of Montreal, Tyler & Alexa Tribble who remember Kim as a devoted "Hockey Mom" and spoiler of little girls, and Katie & Reyanne Frigon who are lucky enough to be taught by Mrs. Moffat @ RPS! Nikki
We are so deeply saddened to hear of Kim's passing. Corrine worked with Kim at the General, so knew first hand what a bright, funny, caring person she was. Crossing paths again through our kid's schools and sports, it was easy to see what a devoted mom and wife she was, and what pride she took in Stephanie and Liam. Every interaction with Kim left you smiling. We're appreciating just now how much of an effort that must have been for her. Jeff, Stephanie and Liam, we would never want to intrude, but please know that you have friends close by more than willing to help in any way. Wishing peace to you all.
May the Coons and Dupelle families find comfort in the many memories you have of Kim and may God bless you all with a special measure of his peace, strength and hope in the days ahead. Thinking of you and many memories of growing up in Vankleek Hill. Good memories! André Pilon (Arnprior, Ontario)
Our deepest sympathies to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I can’t tell you how sorry we were to hear of Kim’s passing. Although we did not spend much time with Kim, it was obvious she was a very caring person. I remember her immediately making me feel welcomed and comfortable when I first met her. I felt like I had known her for years. To Jeff, Liam Stephanie and family, please accept our deepest sympathies for this difficult time.
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Kim's passing. I can hear her laugh and see her bright smile as I think of her now. She was so kind to me growing up next door and during mom's last days at the hospital. Cherish the memories and find comfort in each other. Thinking of you all and wishing you peace.
Kim will be sadly missed by her friends and the people whose lives she touched. Our thoughts are with Jeff, Stephanie, Liam and family.
Joyce & family, Our deepest sympathy during this very difficult time. Paul-Emile & Mary Lou Duval
We were shocked when we heard this sad news. I will miss seeing Kim's smiling face and her big wave in the morning when we saw her walking with the dog. Stephanie, Liam and Jeff, our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Know that there are many, many happy memories of Kim out there.
Kim's laugh and smile would always light up a room or hockey arena. She was always the first to help cook, bake, fill water bottles, help injured players and knitt mittens for the fans in the stand. She warmed every one's hearts. Cherish the wonderful and happy memories, she loved you all and family was such a big part in her life. Our deepest sympathies to all of you and the Coons and Dupelle family. You will be missed but never forgotten.
So very sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am so sorry to hear of Kim's passing. I had the privilege to work with Kim in the cath lab at the Heart Institute. Kim was not only an excellent nurse, but a wonderful person to work alongside. Her warm smile made the day so much better not only for her colleagues, but most importantly, for her patients. Kim often chatted with pride and fondness to me about her immediate and extended family. In our chats, we were both surprised to learn that not only did she live in my hometown of Russell, but also that she lived on Forced Road where my parents once lived. My greatest and heartfelt sympathies to Pat and the Coons and Dupelle family.
We will miss Kim's cheerful face and friendly chats.
We can only imagine how difficult this is, and our hearts and thoughts are with you. While time is a healer, that may be of little consolation now.
Know that there are many friends on the Forced Road who love and care about all of you. Dean and Angie Loucks, 228 Forced Road
We were devastated to hear about Kim's passing. We had such fun and happy times together dating back to the mid 80's, including living together with three of the four Coons' girls all in the same apartment building at Mooney's Bay.
We hope her family know that she is remembered as a compassionate, conscientious and caring nurse; a happy, positive and hardworking colleague who was always willing to lend a helping hand; a kind and wonderful friend and a dedicated mother, wife, sister and daughter.
We will miss her dearly and send all our love and prayers to the entire family that time may ease your pain.
Working with Kim in the cath lab was always a pleasure. She was a hard worker, always thoughtful of her coworkers and a great patient advocate. I especially remember her organizing her daughter's grade 8 grad with such pride. She often spoke of her children, her husband and her close family. I miss her very much and will always have fond memories of her. Pat we are thinking of you and send you hugs.
Kelly and Ryan Adams.
We are deeply sorry to hear about the loss of Kim. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.
What a great girl! Always a friendly smile and a big hello. She took the time to stop & chat with such ease and genuine interest in your life. Her love of her family including her dog Jack was in abundance. We knew each others families growing up in VKH. My kids were lucky enough to have Janie as their teacher. As a neighbour, here on Forced Rd, she brightened my day when we met on our walks. Such a good natured & loving human being - that's a successful life. Jeff & family, your pain I know is enormous. We will all miss her. With great sympathy & sadness, Janet & Bob
Words cannot express how saddened we have been to hear of Kim's death. Our family have warm memories of her kindness and generosity. As the children's daycare provider I remember her as a loving, caring and devoted mother to Stephanie and Liam. Our deepest sympathy Jeff, Stephanie and Liam, you are in our prayers.
My sincere condolences to the Coons and Dupelle families. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
It is a terrible loss to those of us who know Kim at Curves. She was an enthusiastic and friendly member for years, then joined us as staff at both of my clubs. She was an amazing staffer -- competent, caring, thoughtful, everything you could ask for. She will be sorely missed by all staff and members, and by me. We loved her. My sincere condolences to the family. I know the pain must be difficult to bear, but the memory of what a wonderful woman Kim was to so many people will hopefully offer a little solace. If there is anything that any of us can do to help your family now and forever, we will be there for you in whatever way you need.
