Obituary of Robert Eastwood

EASTWOOD, Robert Fredrick

February 12, 1932 – September 7, 2024

Age: 92

Robert (Bob) passed away after a wonderful long life which he lived to its fullest!  Bob loved outdoor activities. In the summer, in his younger days, if he wasn’t working in his garden, you would find him swimming laps in the Rouge River and in the winter, skiing down the slopes. He loved music and became quite a master at playing his Accordion. He would often join various other area musicians in donating his time by entertaining seniors at senior’s residences and care homes.  He worked at Canadian Refractories for 40 years, where he started as a worker in the mines and retired as a Foreman in 1994.  Aside from his actual work, Bob was a self-taught electrician, plumber and carpenter and was very proud that he was able to build his first family home, in Bell Falls, Quebec.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Catherine Nixon Eastwood of 11years.  Predeceased by his first wife Hilda Eastwood (nee Page).  Father of Donna and grandfather to Willem Schamboeck (Queen).  Father of Cindy (Mark).

Predeceased by his sister Lenora Davis.

Predeceased by and step-father to Bobby Page (Marlene).  Grandfather to Chris Page (Leila) and Stephanie Page (Oliver) and great grandson Sam Pattison.

We will never forget you.

Family and friends will be invited to attend a Funeral Service at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond St, Vankleek Hill, Ontario, on Saturday November 2nd, 2024 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at The Vankleek Hill Curling Club 136 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill.
