Obituary of Joyce Catherine Allen
Peacefully, at the wonderful age of 96 on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Hawkesbury, surrounded by love and under the tender care of her two devoted daughters. Predeceased by her beloved husband the late Dean Allen.
Joyce stood as a pillar of love and strength within her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion. She was a cherished mother to Garry (Diane), Nancy, Stewart (Karen), Sandra (Late Oran Robinson) and her 3rd son, Gary Sauve.
A beloved grandmother to Jamie (Roxanne), Mandy (Pieter-Jan), Tara-Lee, Morgan, and Kevin (Fior). Joyce found immense joy in the light of her grandchildren's lives, embracing each moment with them and celebrating their milestones. "Gigi's" love extended to her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mathias, Lauren Joyce Kathryn, Alexander, Emerson, Tyler, Owen, Amelia, and Jackson. She delighted in their laughter and showered them with endless affection.
Joyce touched countless hearts with her compassion, generosity, and grace. She will be remembered for her love of music, gentle spirit, nurturing presence, and the deep love she had for her family and her constant companions, her beloved cats. Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
In her final years, Joyce made the decision to move from her home to The Heritage Lodge, where she received exceptional care and support. Joyce's days were brightened by the opportunity to be near her daughter Sandra, who worked tirelessly at the Lodge. Being able to see and be cared for by her daughter every day, brought her immense joy and pride.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joyce's life on Saturday March 9, 2024, at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club, 136 Bond St, Vankleek Hill, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In memory of Joyce, please consider a donation to The Heritage Lodge - Activity Department, The Humane Society, or The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation.
