Condolences
Our sympathies to all the family. Brenda & Terry Mott
I am sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Macewen's. I was instantly drawn to Jim and i spent several late evenings just hanging out with him. He was an infinite library of wisdom for me and would always take the time
to help and explain how everything should work. He had the most beautiful hand writing and a wicked sense of humor. I always left with a smile on my face after seeing him. He is greatly missed and i will never forget Jim.

I remember Jim from Grenville School where I was in classes with him, a great person even in teenage years.
Peace to all who are mourning his loss.
I live in SW Ontario now but check local obits on a regular basis. My wife and I are still in good health and travel as much as we can. We are currently in Florida for a short time.
Jon Wood (I used to live across the road from GHS)
Our condolences to the Family.
Brother Jim and i have a vivid memory of first meeting Jim at Ayer’s Ski Hill in 1967.
His “modified” ski doo was out front and hard to miss. It had plates to widen the skis, various stickers and let’s just say it was enhanced. What really stood out was the “machete” attached to the side - Jim was always cutting trails.
We visited Jim many times over the years at his farm in Rawcliffe.
Fortunately, jim worked for us for over 30 years - helping in a big way to keep the fleet rolling - safely.
Jims work was solid and often repairs resulted in better than new. His patience for substandard work was short - i recall Jim sharing his thoughts on work by others that was less than perfect!
Jim was a pilot and was always enquiring about my flying - right up until a few weeks ago.
We admired Jim, respected him and will miss Jim.
I have known Jim for many years, ever since I showed up at his parents’ house in Rawcliffe in about 1974. I was sent to see his mother about the Scotch Road Cemetery. Mary and I worked together for a number of years to restore and maintain the graveyard. Jim was always a willing volunteer to work on site, cutting trees that were threatening to fall into the cemetery or replacing fence posts and stringing wire fencing. He would drive across the old concession road from Rawcliffe on his tractor with his tools and equipment. In later years he always attended our annual general meetings and made a sizable donation each year. Whenever I was in the Grenville area, I would drop by and have a chat with him. He was always happy to stop what he was doing and show me his ingenious contraptions for making work easier. I will miss Jim. He was a good and faithful friend. Down to earth with a wicked sense of humour. Gone too soon.
My sympathies to all the family, I have lots of fond memories of Jim. We had many good chats over a Tim Horton's coffee, I don't think he ever stopped in for a visit without bringing coffee and a muffin or donut. I enjoyed talking snowmobiles or anything mechanical, and riding with Jim at the farm. There was always something to see - the latest creation, next project, and stories to be told. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed.
Our deepest sympathies to all the family.
Our deepest sympathies to all of Jim's family. We have lost a long time friend.
