Dear Steph and Ekiert Family,
Roger and I send our deepest sympathy at the loss of your father. My dad, Bernie Gillies, worked with him at AC and had the greatest respect and liking for your dad, both professionally and personally. Roger and I were glad to have seen him and your mom at the introduction of the B737 Max event at the AC hangar several years ago. He wrote a very kind letter to my dad when he retired, and I found it when my dad passed away 2 years ago, just a week shy of 96. I also have a great photo of the two of them with some other gentlemen which I can share with you via email if you like. Gillies_Brenda@hotmail.com. Take care, and again we both send our condolances to your family. Brenda and Roger Albert
Among many other interests, Walter was a fully invested & dedicated long time member of our flying club. You would often see Walter nursing our ancient tractors back to life, mowing our runway, or patiently teaching teaching students the art of Soaring (including myself). Walter was a great believer in preventive maintenance & making short work of little problems before they had a chance to grow.Among the many national flags in our trailer park, you could always tell when Walter was present by the Polish flag he proudly flew, which was often.
A life well lived; Rest In Peace

I was sad to learn the news. I met Walter around 30 years ago and always admired what a gentleman he truly was. Always kind and thoughtful and a pleasure to speak with. My deepest sympathies go out to the entire family. Maurice Pallone
