We are saddened by the untimely passing of my good friend Burt. I have very fond memories of times spent with him at the filling station or on the golf Course. He had the subtle knack of teasing me in a brotherly way, fun at my expense. While I didn't see him as often as could have over the years, we did have some wonderful long conversations by phone calls as both of us could talk at length. I love his easy going demeanor, wonderful sense of humour, and his infectious smile. Burt was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. I will miss him dearly. Jim
We were so very sorry and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Burt. He was such a kind and caring person.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers to all of Burt’s family.

Like many, I am still trying to process this sad news. I was privileged to meet Burt through his loyal and close friend Luc. Because of this I was able to share so many special moments (golf, motorcycling, etc…) with Burt which where all so memorable and always so much fun. I will never forget your beautiful smile and joie de vivre. I am grateful that I was able to give you a big hug in Germany and express to you how much we love you.
My sincere condolences to the family and all his friends (specially Luc and Gaetan).
We will miss you forever Burt! Xo
We would like to express our sincere condolences to Burt's family, he will be sadly missed. We were lucky enough to see Burt every week filling up at Burt's, over 30+ years before we move to AB. He always took the time from his busy day, to ask how my mom and dad were doing and the family. We were also lucky enough to have Burt stop in and see us a few years back while we were in AB and he was out travelling about. Rest easy Burt, you'll be missed.
Lynn, Earl and family
Like many others, working with Burt in the early days of his service station was one of my first jobs. “Clean those windshields, and they’ll come back” he would say. Where do you get service like that these days? Burt’s incredible work ethic, and his attention to detail, made him an excellent role model for all the young people who worked with him. His wealth of knowledge made every casual chat a learning experience. His warm smile and generous heart will be dearly missed.

We would like to express sincere condolences to Burt’s family and his many friends. It was with great sadness that we learned of his passing. We didn’t cross paths often in these latter years but when we did he always took the time for a little chat and a few laughs. We’ll miss seeing him around as will so many in the community.
So sad to hear of Burt's passing, my wife Jill and I remember him fondly as a gentle and gracious co-traveller on our European bike adventures. Scant consolation for his family, but leaving this world doing something you love and that brings you pure joy is a gift that few will be lucky enough to experience.
Our condolence to Burton's family and friends. We rode with Burt on a several motorcycle tours in Europe and became good friends. Burt would drop in for a chat when in the area visiting his sisters. We had to go to Europe to meet Burt as we live in Carp, ON. Burt loved life. RIP our friend.

Definitely a life lived to the fullest, but cut to short.
Working for Burt and Brenda was always a pleasure.
Seeing first hand how hard they worked ,and played was admirable.
Thoughts and prayers to the families ,
Burt will definitely be missed and has touched so many lives along his amazing journey.
A definite leader, and admirable example to follow.
Lived life to the Fullest.

Our hearts go out to Burt's family and we extend our sincere sympathy. The last time we spoke to Burt, he told a story about a tree that he planted for Brenda. The tribute was warm, touching, and a reflection of the love he had for her. Burt was a true gentleman and he touched the lives of so many people. What a great life he lived.
We send out sympathy to Burt's family and friends a great loss. Herbie and Linda
Wow, where to start, eh!!! Condolences to all the Families & Friends of the Legendary Burt McHardy, first and foremost.
Whether I was working for Burt at McHardy’s Ultramar Gas Station in the late 80’s & early 90’s, visiting with him at the gas station or his house, on the golf courses or ski hills, or out here on in Victoria or Whistler, BC; we always shared laughs, good eats, hilarious memories, and a good quality beer or wine.
Burt was a Father-figure for me for the past 30 years and I’ll truly miss our phone calls and FaceTime calls just to keep up-to-date and plan our next rendezvous (visiting/golfing/skiing).
Burt lived his life to the fullest and lived by the Moto of “Don’t Let the Old Man In”. You’ll be missed, my Good Friend.
