So very sorry to hear of Barb”s sudden passing. I was very fortunate to meet Barb in person in Florida, thanks to my brother, Kevin Stauch who was Barb”s companion and dear supportive friend for 12 years ( until she moved from her home). As well, I enjoyed her laughter, emails and photos of her and Kevin on their memorable trips to Spain, Greece, Italy, PEI and her favourite trip, Nashville. They also enjoyed golfing and spending time in Florida together during the winters.

Barb was a lovely person and will be missed. Please accept my condolences.

I wish to offer my sincere condolences to all family members.

Mrs Rutherford was one of my teachers at the Hawkesbury High School and I have good memories of her. I remember her always smiling and having a good disposition towards me even though I was a bit of a brat. One day, I convinced all my classmates to hide before she arrived in the classroom. So some of us actually opened windows and hid outside, some hid underneath the desks, it was quite funny. When she arrived, I remember she was not even startled at our joke but instead was very amused. She was a great teacher!

My sincerest sympathies to all the family

She gave her grade 10 student (English for french) an assignment: Write a one page scary enigmatic story.

But Mrs Rutherford wasn't the quickest to hand us back corrected homework and I forgot what I wrote. About a week later she selected to read aloud her favourite. Low and behold...I slowly recognized she was reading my story!

A classy teacher who had no favourites and was a role model to females professionals. I ended up going into medicine. She made a big impression.
