Obituary of Warren Douglas Johnson
June 11,1935 - March 6, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Warren Douglas Johnson, 87, of Vankleek Hill, Ontario on March 6, 2023. With his family by his side we said goodbye to our kind, brave, strong, passionate and caring husband to Huguette, father to Terry Johnson & Chris (Annette) Johnson, stepfather to Louise LaBarre, brother to Marion Trasler, grandfather to Sequoya Bartrem (Ben Shipman), Keisha Bartrem (Natalie Staniewski), Noah Johnson & Kai Johnson, and great-grandfather to Fletcher Warren Shipman.
Born and raised in Lachine, Quebec to parents (Horace & Edyth Johnson) and married to Janet Dawley (Townend) in 1960. His happy place was at the cottage on Lake MacDonald where he enjoyed the outdoors, puttering around planning his next project. Extremely creative and talented as a carpenter, bird carver, painter, and almost anything he decided to tackle, including a master at making Yorkshire Pudding :-) He loved fishing, cooking, reading, cutting firewood with his chainsaw and puzzles.
He was a passionate teacher, making complex things simple; always providing the right answers. Rarely was there a time he did not have a solution to our endless questions. His great sense of humour was evident to the end - in his final days he was quick to joke and smile alongside us.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the cottage, as he wished, in the Summer. Until then Dad, we were so blessed to have you as a father and will never forget you, the great times and the laughter we shared.
