Obituary of Sheila Robinson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Sheila Margaret Robinson (nee Clark) who passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Hawkesbury General Hospital. Sheila was the daughter of the late Charles and Adelia Clark (nee McCrank) and the loving wife of the late Desmond Robinson for 60 years. Cherished mother to Anna Marie (Garrett McGillis), and James (Jane Scott). Waiting on the other side for their mother is daughter Rhonda, and James’s twin brother, John.

Sheila was a devoted grandmother to Clark McGillis (Monica), Sam McGillis (Jessica), Aidan McGillis (Jordan), Hailey (Ethan Lalonde) and Kyle. Sheila was also a proud great-grandmother to newly born Denver Lalonde.

Sheila leaves behind her loving siblings Anita (Doug), Colleen (late Allie), Ryan (late Lise), Monica (Carl), and Patricia (Richard). Predeceased by sister Mary (Jack). Sheila will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Betty Seguin (Ronnie) and many nieces, nephews, and family friends.

As many can attest, Sheila was small but mighty, and the ultimate matriarch of her universe. She lived life to the fullest and was a guiding light to her family and friends. She was very proud of her twenty-five-year career with the Royal Bank of Canada, her community of friends, and most of all, her family. Sheila’s tenacious spirit never faltered in the face of devastating loss; she continued to support and inspire others despite these challenges. To know her, is to love her – always.

In celebration of Sheila, we invite family and friends to the Vankleek Curling Club 136 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 5 to 9 pm for light snacks and refreshments. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Special thank you to Dr. Lizotte and the ICU team, the kind staff at the Heritage Lodge, Sue Carkner, and all the friends, family, and neighbours who have helped her over the years.
