Condolences
So sorry to hear of Ron's passing. First met him in Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Montreal. We went to summer camp for several years and always had great fun. My condolences to you and your family Dody.

Dear Dody and family, so very sorry for the loss of someone so special. Condolences and hugs.
To Ron`s wife, Dody; his daughters Dara (Alan Horn) & Alyssa (John McCaig); his sister Gail (Mike Roach) and his grandson Evan Dines Carty, our deepest sympathy. It is with regret that I took notice of Ron`s pass away. I have met a lot of distinguish people in my life and the first day I played golf with Ron, I notice what a gentleman he was. He marked my life & I will always remember his joy of living. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during those hard days. We wish you Strenght, Courage, Peace & Serenity. May Ron`s spirit rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
Dara, our condolences to you and the entire family for your loss. Our thoughts are with you

Alyssa and Family,
We were very saddened to read of your Dad's illness and passing!
May you be comforted by the support of family and friends, and fond memories shared with him over the years.

He was one of my favorite word puzzlers. I will always miss our back-and-forth trying to solve an especially hard one.
Our sincere condolences to the Dines family from your neighbors.
Marc,Francine and Olivier Binette.
We were aware that this was coming since we learned of the diagnosis, but that doesn't make it any easier. Our condolences to Dody and the girls. I believe that it was I who first introduced Ron and Henry to the crypto crosswords at the back of Saturday Night magazine back in the sixties. They both picked it up and ran with it. Then Ron went on to all sorts of puzzles that I had never heard of. The rest is history. I also remember our snowshoe trek down the Jacques Cartier river from the Dery house to Donnacona and many other memories including his book "The Paper Ladder".

Dear Dody and family,
Having recently lost Traver, I don't have to imagine how you are feeling. Both of us admired Ron's many talents and were delighted by his friendship.

We send our love and gratitude to all the family for having known Ron and been blessed by his wisdom and sense of humour. Sending love for now and ongoing. Richard and Pat Kerr
My sincere condolences to the entire family as well as Ron’s many friends. It was both an honor and a pleasure to have known Ron - he contributed greatly to my love of the game of golf and although I will never reach his abilities, I will cherish the memories of his advice and friendship. RIP.

Dody, Dara and Alyssa and family.
Please accept my sincerest condolences on Ron's passing. What great memories of a wonderful man and a beautiful family who purchased the then Gourley home on Union Street and made it into a masterpiece while rekindling its original character and charm. To make it better, the Dines family became great neighbors for those of us who lived nearby. So sorry for the loss of a good man.

My sincere condolences to you Dody and to the rest of the family. Ron was my bridge partner for many years and I have yet to meet a more honorable, gentle and intelligent man. I will miss him very much. I am a better man today because of his wisdom and patience.

My family and I honour the memory of Ron when the lovely Dines family lived in our house on Wilson avenue. Even helping us survive the Ice Storm.
Sharing your grief at this time for the loss of this multi-talented, accomplished and beloved Man.
I am crying all day as I remember the fun times with Ron as we studied the trees and leaves. The trickles of tickles of arborial splendor will keep his spirit alive in my heart forever. Hold the fort my dear friend, a man amongst men.
My deepest sympathies to all the family but mostly to Alyssa. May he rest in peace

My sympathy to Dody , Dara and Alyssa and family. Ron certainly fought a good fight and his enthusiasm for life was infectious. He was a smart man full of vim and vigour. The years I spent working with him were always challenging and pleasant. He will be surely missed by his family and friends, especially his golfing buddies. Many happy reunions for the years at the Research are fondly remembered. May he find the rest and peace of which he was certain.
Dody, Dara and Alyssa I hope you know how very saddened I am at this news. Our thoughts are with you at this time of loss and extend our sincerest condolences. Godspeed R/EDS!. Carmie and Manny
Dara, Alyssa and Dody - we were deeply saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. I always remember him as a kind man with a sincere smile. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all.
I remember him and my father (and mother) playing all kinds of words games and I believe it was he who addicted them to cryptic crosswords. My very early years were spent hanging out with the Dines family and he was an integral part of that. My condolences and best wishes to the rest of his family. Big hugs to you all.
