Condolences
I met Maureen when she was 22 when camping round Europe, spent a little time flatting together in London, visited her twice in Durban, once on my honeymoon, and managed with ease to have a lovely relationship all these years. She was such fun to be with and I never doubted we would meet up again, perhaps in UK whilst visiting grandsons. I am so saddened by her passing but so grateful that she was my friend. Neethling family, do keep in touch. U will have my address. Much love. Mary Simes
A Tree of Remembrance has been planted by The Wallace Family~ You are forever loved and remembered.
A Tree of Remembrance was planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest by Mark and Lisa Henderson and the staff of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Maureen will always be remembered with deepest love and admiration. She was a role model to me, and a second mom. Her integrity and determination were a force to be reckoned with. She held people accountable for their questionable actions, and she ran to the defense of those who needed her protection. Her love knew no bounds. She was a faithful friend of many years, and she still opened her arms to new friendships. But her family had her heart. Rod, she absolutely adored you. Justin & Michelle, Caroline and Ross, she was always bursting with pride and talking about you. Michaela, your gran had such a special place in her heart for you. And her grandsons Joshua and Seth, brought her such joy. She spoke about how glad she was to spend these past years in Canada. We missed her from the time Rod and Maureen left Ocean View Road. She was definitely the boss of this road, and a wonderful neighbor. But mostly, I will just miss her for the beautiful friend that she has always been to me. My deepest condolences to Rod and the family, you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you our love, Kim, Angela, Keagan and Cerwyn xxxx
