I usually got to see Merle at family get togethers but once she stayed with me in St. Catharines when. she and her friends visited Gary Conway in Niagara Falls. I had more time than usual to enjoy her warm and bubbly personality. May her family and closest friends be comforted by happy memories. I regret being unable to be there physically for her celebration of life and will be there in spirit, in love, and in light.

I have a special memory of her ... in my high school years, I had a wish to get a birthstone ring (opal) to celebrate graduation from high school and my 18th birthday. Dropped by the jewellry store where she smiled and showed me and helped me choose the perfect one. Went home and told my parents what fun I had at the store, all about the ring, and that I had chatted with Mrs. Leduc. I never expected to receive this gift due to the cost. On my birthday, there it was. It's still a treasure and give me warm thoughts of your Mom every time I see it. How many joyful secrets was she part of in others lives picking out a special piece of jewellry? May she rest in peace, and be joyfully reunited with your Dad. Hugs to you all!
