Condolences
We were so sad to hear of Ralph’s passing. Our sincere condolences to Kim, Brett, Louise and the rest of the family.
Ralph was a good teacher, leader and friend. I first met Ralph when I joined Gulf Canada in Toronto in May 1972. Ralph transferred to Calgary soon thereafter. The following year, September 1973, he invited me to join his department, Financial Services, in Calgary. I remember the fun I had on various assignments. Ralph never pulled any punches and we learnt valuable lessons.
Fran also joined Gulf Canada, Industrial Marketing in Calgary in January 1972 and met Ralph socially. Industrial Marketing and Financial Services were only one floor apart and John and Fran met in 1973 and were married in June 1974. Ralph was great at organizing socials and was the life of the party. A few jobs and moves later, in 1981, Ralph again persuaded me to take on a new role with him in Gulf Resources, Calgary.
After his retirement, Ralph hosted weekend get togethers with other Gulf retirees. We had wonderful golf matches and evenings around the bonfire at his farm in West Creston, BC. He could have lost the rooster though, which woke us all every morning, before it was even light!
Fran and I owe a lot to Ralph for the years of warm companionship, intellectual stimulation and fun times. Thank you Ralph and God bless you.

Very sad to read about Ralph passing away at such a young age (3 days younger than me). Our sincere condolences to the family.
Our friendship goes back 55 years when Ralph and I joined British American oil in Toronto Systems Department in 1966. I had just migrated to From India and he was my first Canadian friend.
He was a dynamic leader and very soon he was snapped by the Marketing Department. I followed him on two assignments one in Toronto and the other in Calgary. We became family friends. I early retired from Gulf in 1993 and he retired a couple of years later. I visited his ranch in Creston and participated in a Golf tournament he organized. On different occasions, he came over and stayed with us while visiting Calgary for medical appointments. Last we met was before Covid at the Gulf Retirees gathering.
He was jovial and fun-loving. He had no time for office politics and was very straightforward, He got things done.
We will always remember you, Ralph. May your soul rest in peace.
On behalf of the Downs Family we extend our sincere condolences to the Stabler and Bennet families on the passing of our cousin Ralph Stabler.

Very sorry to hear of Ralph's passing ! He was a very good friend since we were teenagers. Ralph and I were usually in the back row of the band, bass and keyboard, but we enjoyed a unique bond helping to drive the rhythm and take the odd solo. We had great times and for many years Wayne Nichol, Terry Denny, and I shared the memories with Ralph. I will miss him. My sympathies to Linda and his family.
Condolences to Ralph’s family and to Linda and Kelsey, Trevor, and Megan. Ralph was the oldest of the many Bunting cousins and was always keen for an extended family gathering. I think he frequently graced the Bunting Canada Day photo in front of the large flag. I do remember a July 1st gathering at his cottage and the aunts and uncles, many cousins and the next generation and dogs all gathered in some sort of organized chaos. Ralph would look about and simply sigh ‘family’.

I have such fond memories of growing up with Kim in Calgary. Sundays I would always Hear the “Jesus Christ Superstar” soundtrack being played. I was invited to spend a summer at the Cabin in Ontario. I will never forget Ralph and Hunter. Such great memories. I am sorry for your loss. Hugs to Kim, Louise and Brett.
Sincere condolences Linda on the loss of your brother . It sounded as though he lived is life to the fullest.
Sincerely, Alice Higginson MacLaurin
