Barb and family
I can only begin to tell you how saddened I am to learn of Keith's passing. It has been decades since he and I served together in HMCS St Laurent but my memories of his enduring sense of humour and professionalism remain clear. Keith was an outstanding shipmate and Officer who was respected by the entire ship's company. I trust that as time passes your grief will diminish and we will all be left with a host of warm memories.

We knew Keith when we were growing up in England. He was always happy and love to chat. He will be truly missed and our deepest sympathy to all his family.
Barb,
I was so sad to hear about Keith's death. You will remember the great times and Keith's loyal service when we were together in London. he was a great and dedicated officer. He will be missed by Carolyn and I and I'm sure, all who served with him.
Peter Dumbrille.
I was very sad to read about the passing of an old friend and a great shipmate, and I extend my deepest sympathy to everyone in Keith’s family.
I sailed with Keith in the early 1970’s in HMCS Yukon (DDE 263), and we became a tight-knit ship’s company due in large part to our very extensive sea-time together. Morale was good, and Keith contributed to that with his good nature and humour. Once, after I announced navigation information and mentioned we were passing Santa Catalina Island on our passage from Halifax NS to Esquimalt BC via the Panama Canal, the Boatswain’s Mate got a call for the Officer of the Watch. I answered what I expected to be an official call (engine room, perhaps?) and instead heard a voice singing the opening lines of the Four Preps “26 Miles Across the Sea…” That was Keith – always up for a joke, and who also, by-the-way, amused the rest of us by listening to opera while doing his ironing. (Opera? In a naval vessel?)
A bit of context on the excellent memorial video. The photo of the ship’s officers at 2:45 was taken in Lisbon, Portugal in April 1974 when Yukon was with NATO’s Standing Naval Force Atlantic (STANAVFORLANT). Keith is 4th from the left. On the day we sailed, we were alongside the downtown dock at the start of Portugal’s ‘Carnation Revolution’ (which is another story). The photo at 3:05 was of our ship’s company taken earlier in 1974, I believe in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We were the ‘flag ship’ for STANAVFORLANT, so you can see the Commander’s kisbee ring as well as our own. Both photos show us in our unification ‘army green’ uniforms – We went back to our proper naval uniforms in 1985!
Fair winds and following seas, Keith.

To Lisa, Mark and family. May your hearts be filled with love and support from all of us whom you have helped over time. Your dad sounds like a wonderful person. May your memories of him give you peace and comfort.
Keith had the most beautiful voice, and as I recall we made loads of money at Christmas time going around the neighbourhood singing Christmas Carols in England. We would buy Mam & Dad Christmas presents and I am not sure where the rest of the money went???? I was so proud of him when he had a solo during Mass on Christmas Eve and was also part of a travelling opera group called The Gondoliers.
I shall miss my big brother, but I do know that wherever he goes, he goes with a joke, a smile, and a song in his heart.
Good Night and God Bless "SON"
You little sister Maureen

Dear Barb and family
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers over the last few day as Keith transitioned into the arms of the loving Universe. How appropriate to say that he set sail on his last voyage. When we see a cloud looking like a ship we will know that Keith is commanding that spiritual vessel and that he will always be with us in spirit. We pray that your family and friends will be a comfort to you as you celebrate Keith's life. May you find peace in knowing he was well loved by many. Hugs from Karen and Doug Collins

Aunt Barb, Jacqueline, Lisa, and families,
You have my deepest sympathy. Uncle Keith was so special to me. As a child I was thrilled (and maybe a little bit scared) of his floating eyeball stories, but all my memories are of how much I loved spending time with all of you. From the time I was little my visits with Aunt Barb and Uncle Keith were always wonderful. Uncle Keith even took me to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen! He also did me the honour of toasting the bride at my wedding. So many wonderful memories, I couldn’t list them all here, but each one is precious to me. I know, all of you, will find comfort in your precious memories as well. Much love, Andrea and Mike XO
