A Tree of Remembrance has been planted by Brian Skinner in memory of Tom.
I was deeply saddened to read of Tom's passing. Tom has been in reminiscent thoughts recently, unaware that you had moved back to Ontario and were not far from Almonte, where we are now living. Tom's gentlemanly, quiet manner and easy laughter made him a great lunch companion at Station Mall food court, where you always rated a visit, even for a moment.

Donna, we were so sad to hear of Tom’s passing. We have so many fond memories from the Algoma Steel and OLC days. Tom was a great mentor and a good friend who showed us much kindness and was always quick to laugh and enjoy a fun night out. The memories of the OLC bowling league, the Christmas parties (and after party/breakfast at the Purple Lantern) and progressive dinner parties will always keep Tom alive in our hearts. We wish you strength and peace and will keep you in our thoughts. Take care, Rob and Norma Gardner
My deepest condolences Tom's family.

There are so many memories we have about "T", of course most of them include Donna. They were totally devoted and joined at the hip for 50 years. We've been remembering Saturday night dinners, Sunday Football, (Easy Beefy Cheesy Casserole), our vacations every year, the guys golf trips to the Beach, New Years Eve at Cesira's we could go on and on. Tom as well as "Kozy" were always there for me and later us. If I had to pick one thing to say about "T" it would be that he would do anything for Donna and never embarrass her....except for that one afternoon. Walking past the pool at Ocean Creek, he threatened to throw her in. She confidently dared him and to our surprise, he did! Donna still has her mouth open.
A life is lost but our memories will last forever. Donna stay strong and "T" there is an emptiness now that you're gone.

Donna we will never understand your loss but know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
We always wanted Tom on our Trivia Pursuit team because he had in his head the largest amount of “useless” trivia that was always the right answer.
Rest In Peace our dear friend.

I only knew Tom a short time but a kind gentleman he was. My deepest condolences to all his family especially Donna who took such great care of him. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
I remember Tom as cheerful, upbeat, always looking for positives in everything. I so enjoyed "hanging out" with Tom during our high school and University days. We had so much fun doing creative and mindful activities, such as cruising Queen St., in Sault Ste. Marie, or attending parties at Windsor University, or visiting for a few beers at his off-campus residence. What impresses me most, though, is the very deep feelings, the love, Tom, had for Donna. during our early, old times together. His love for Donna was written on his face almost always. Mention Donna and his bright smile got brighter. Over the years I lost touch with Tom. So, this news of his passing is a terrible shock and sadness for me, as it is for all who knew him. I wish a blessing of strength for all who mourn for Tom, for strength is what we all need right now, as we suffer the pain of his absence. May all who know Tom be blessed and may God receive him with open arms.
Every once in a while someone comes into your world who is larger than life. Someone you look up to, respect, admire, trust, and love. Uncle Tom was all that to me and more. For almost 50yrs he was a big part of my life. From driving up to Sudbury in the middle of the winter to see me right after I was born...to buying me my first football at 9mths old....to taking me to my first Blue Jays game...to helping me through college, my first marriage and divorce...to welcoming Jason into the family as if he was their own... To loving both my children in his own special way.
After I took Jason to meet Uncle Tom and Aunt Donna for the first time, I told Jason that I wanted our marriage to be like theirs. For over 50yrs he loved my Aunt so very much and her happiness was everything.
Yesterday, we lost this man. This wonderful, caring, and loving man. Life will forever be changed, but I'm grateful to have had all the years I did with him. Love you Uncle Tom...rest in peace...
