Obituary of Robert Dennis Graham
Robert Dennis Graham, of Hawkesbury, succumbed to a long illness at the Hawkesbury General Hospital this past Remembrance Day, November 11th, 2020. He was 80 years old.
His wife, Joyce, daughter, Gillian, and son, Christian, their partners and his grandchildren loved him dearly and will miss his presence and all that he brought to their lives. We are immensely relieved that he is now at peace. His surviving siblings, Gini, David and Tom Graham and the rest of a wonderful, large extended family will remember him as a great card player and story-teller, the latter which always involved his encyclopedic knowledge, cheekiness and humour.
Dennis worked for the Royal Bank in his younger years. After retiring he and Joyce moved to Hawkesbury where he found cherished friends and community at the Hawkesbury Golf and Curling Club, in his Bridge clubs and through a stint as an Editorial cartoonist for the VKH Review. Dennis had mobility issues in his later years but fortunately he loved watching soccer and golf on TV, doing expert level crossword puzzles and enjoyed times when he and Joyce received family and friends at their lovely riverside home.
The family thanks the nursing staff and doctors at HGH for their good care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their gratitude towards Hillcrest Funeral Home for being very accommodating during this difficult time.
There will be no funeral service, as was Dennis’s wish. Memorial donations may be made in his name to any worthy charity.
