Dear Sue ,Irvine, Lyall, Nancy, Sharon and families. I was sadden to read this weeks Review and to see that Rae had lost his valiant and courageous fight with cancer. Such a bright light to be lost so soon. I will miss his wicket sense of humor and that very calm demeanour. My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. May memories comfort you and his soul guide you along. Rest in peace Rae.

Our deepest sympathies to Suzanne and family at this difficult time.We got to know Rae really well when he was coaching the Pee Wee hockey teams in Vankleek Hill and leading them to the finals years in a row. Rae always had on his Maple Leaf sweater as a coach( still not sure if this was a help or not but Bev Newton sure enjoyed seeing it all the time ). He will be missed by all who knew him. in Rae's words " Let's go play some old time hockey boy's". Rest in peace my friend.
We were so sad to hear about Rae. We have such fond memories of our time spent with Rae 24 years ago when we renovated our whole house. He was always smiling, always patient and kind. A wonderful man. He gave Donnie some marital advise all those years ago just before we got married. He said you only need to know two words for a happy marriage. "Yes Dear". We are sorry we won't be able to attend his funeral. Our sympathies to Sue and the kids.
Our deepest sympathies to the Barton family. He was a good friend.

Nat and I want to express our most sincere condolences for your loss. We know it's been a very difficult struggle for both you and Rae and we will always remember how tough and positive you told us he was during that time. Please know you are in our thoughts and may God comfort you during this difficult time. With much love and compassion, Laurie and Nathalie xoxo
My deepest sympathies to the Barton family at this very sad time. I went to school with Rae and of course Knox with Rae, Nancy and Sharon. Rest in Peace Rae.
to Sue and the family. I will remember Rae by his good humor, his kind heart and his positive attitude.
I have many fond memories of Rae. 1987 he was to install my new kitchen cupboards into my century home. He walked in with his tools, took out his level, and remarked never to use a level in an old home, the eye works much better. I don't think any one has ever done work in this house, where I didn't repeat this piece of wisdom.
I also recall summers at the lake, Rae teaching the kids to yell, " You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream". They caught on very nicely to that lesson. Drove Shirley crazy! LOL
Your sense of humor will be fondly remembered, and very much missed.
Debbie
