A Celebration of Life of Anne and Elwood
Interment
Condolences
Dear Joan, Barbara and family,
We were lucky enough in 1994 to move to Carillon Cres with our young family and soon became acquainted with Ann and Elwood. They loved our Springer Spaniel and she often would head to their place, ignoring my calls. I would soon find her with Ann and Elwood, getting lots of cuddles and treats. It was the Ice Storm of '98 that solidified our friendship and from that date on we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and Easter Sunday together. There were many other celebrations over the years, their 50th, Elwood's 80th, Ann's 70th, Perry's 50th, and Kurt's wedding in 2013 to name a few! We considered them "family" and Carillon Cres. just wasn't the same for us when they moved into town. We stayed with them during our move from Hawkesbury in late 2011 and last visited with them in March 2016. I am grateful for that visit as it was Perry's last trip to Ontario and we had such a great evening with Ann & Elwood. Kyle and Kurt had visits with them in the last year and they even met my young granddaughter. I enjoyed hearing their stories of their time in Ireland and thought of them when I was there recently. They loved Arundel and spoke of the area often. Ann and Elwood were very dear friends who we will remember fondly.

Very sorry to read this sad news....I don’t remember a wedding, funeral or family function that Elwood and Anne did not attend....such a nice couple.
Our sympathies to all family members.

To the Swail family;
I am saddened to hear of Elwood's passing and of Anne's. Elwood was my Dad's cousin (Royce Morrison). When John and I traveled to Ireland in 1975, my Dad told me to visit Elwood and Anne. I remember sitting in a Pub in the village of Nenagh, (Ireland) flipping coins.. I will call, I will not.. I kept getting the one 'not to call'.. then I thought, my father will be so annoyed !! I called. Elwood and Anne were the most welcoming people that I have ever visited with. We only planned to have a short visit, but that was not going to the case. WE were invited for not only for dinner, but to stay overnight - myself, my husband John and my brother-in-law Leonard. (Remember Elwood might have met me as a child and that was the sum total of our relationship) A delightful evening, and they told us to visit the Giant's Causeway in the north. I have never forgotten their hospitality. The next visit was Hawkesbury in 2013, John and I were invited for lunch. Again, such a good visit.. We exchanged Christmas cards over the years, keeping the thread alive. Rest in peace, Godspeed !!
Deepest Sympathy to all the Swail family & relatives.

My deepest sympathy to Elwood and Anne's family at this very sad time of loss. I have fond memories of them visiting with Mom and Dad in L'Orignal, and of their sharing stories with my parents and myself. May they rest in peace.
