Condolences
Helen, I still miss you and think of you almost every day. I miss our card games and I miss your smile and laugh. Your memorial service was lovely, and I forgot to take a banana for you. Kathy July 2 2014.
Even though three weeks have passed, I still find myself going to the phone in the evening to phone Helen, as I always did every day. Then I remember...Oh she's not there. I miss my best friend, who had the greatest laugh and shared stories with me about her childhood in Montreal, and how she lived in Ottawa alone to quite an old age in her own apartment, and she told me of different places of interest in Ottawa. We had such fun playing Scrabble and Skip-Bo. Helen, I miss you.
Helen was my best friend for the past 4-5 years, after I met her at the Heritage Lodge, where I volunteer. We went to Sugaring Off, and shopping at Zellers together. She always came to my Bingo and Reading Groups at the Heritage. We had a lot of fun playing Scrabble together, and later Skip Bo. Our birthdays are very close and I have the wonderful card she gave me in March 2013. I enjoyed phoning her in the evenings and visiting her regularly at Chute a Blondeau, where I saw her a few weeks ago. I visited her in the hospital a week or so ago and she was laughing and joking, etc. I can't believe she's gone and I will miss her stories, jokes, our games, and her lovely outfits with matching jewellery. My condolences to the family.
To the family of dear Helen. Sincere sympathy to you on the loss of dear Helen. Helen was a member of Good Companions, and our OSTOP Ottawa group, and she will be remembered by her friends there for her twinkling eyes, big smile, and her wonderful sense of humour. May the precious memories of her help comfort you at this sad time.
Knowing Helen, from our many chats at the Heritage Lodge, enriched my life. She was truly a special lady. Condolences to her family.
Everyone at the lodge misses Helen very much especially Joye. They had many games of skip boo and scrabble and we enjoyed Helen's whit. Our sympathy to the family
Deepest sympathy! I will remember Helen's laugh and love of skip bo with the other senior's.
