Condolences
Dear Laurie and Sean, please accept our condolences. It was a happy period when your parents and we knew each other, and you two and our kids were contemporaries too, back in the 70s and 80s. In more recent years it was always fun to see Marla and Gene of a Sunday. Sad to have them both gone. Our best wishes to you.
Dear Laurie: You have been on my mind a lot lately. I know the emptiness of losing a mother. But everyday you will see her a lot in the things you do and say. She will always be with you, in your heart, with the many happy memories you have. I will keep you in my prayers!
Laurie and Sean, Please know that we are thinking of you and your family at this very difficult time. Your mom was a such a gracious, kind and dedicated friend to my mom and dad and we will always remember her fondly.
Our deepest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mother. Know that you are in our thoughts. Love, Laura and Dave
Peace came swiftly on that cold January day,
when your seventy-three years of living met an abrupt end.
No more worries or fears will you meet on your way,
as you leave us with memories to help us all mend.

Auntie Mac A wonderful and caring lady Sean, Laurie and family With heartfelt sympathy Bev and Brent John, Lisanna and Cameron
Sean & Laurie and family, I am so sorry to hear about your dear Mom. I have many fond memories of your Mom and her smile. Marla was a great friend to my folks - remember how much your Mom & Dad enjoyed their Trivial Pursuit nights with the gang? They all shared so many good laughs together. Our hearts go out to you.
We met as students starting our nursing program in 1959 in New Westminster, BC. Over all these years we have stayed in contact. Distance made it difficult for her to attend our class gatherings and reunions but we always remembered her. Thank goodness for Christmas cards, phone calls and emails. It was with profound sadness I say goodbye to this dear lady.
An angel in heaven has her wings I'd like to say
A woman so kind and loved in every way
She loved nature, animals and the birds
She was my friend and I'm at a loss for words
But I'm happy Marla you're no longer in pain
And I pray that someday we'll meet somwhere again
I will treasure all the memories that we shared with each other, with Marla and Gene and my late husband John. All the outdoor outings, canoeing, snowshoeing, get-togethers. I will miss her chocolate chip cookies, her Nanaimo bars and our everyday chats on the phone and getting together over a Tim's. We have been friends for many years and I am going to miss her so much. My deepest sympathy to you Sean and Joanne and Kelly and to you Laurie and Aiden and Liam.
Love Marilyn Masters

My heart goes out to Sean and Laurie and families in the loss of your dear Mom and Grandma. My memories of Mac, as we called her in the early 60's, go back to our days of nursing together on East 8 at Vancouver General Hospital. Mac was an excellent nurse and our times spent together were just the best. We worked hard but we had fun at the same time. Life was good and the patients received the best care. Later on we spent time together in Prince George when Gene was transferred here. After that we kept in touch at Christmas for years. I will miss that. Mac was a very special woman and she will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Love Maureen and Bob
Laurie and family, So very sorry to hear the news of your dear mom's passing. What a long and valiant battle she fought with you by her side the whole way for which I know she was grateful. She is at peace now, released from her suffering and no longer in pain. Keep close the memories of all the wonderful times you shared and, through those memories, she will continue to live on in your heart. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, K

My sincere sympathies to all the family. I regret that I never met Muriel in person, but we shared a lot of "family time" via email in the last 20 years. I liked her a lot. ........ (a McKenzie cousin) Doreen Kerr
