Obituary of Ross Rodger

Peacefully on Saturday morning, May 5, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Faye for 62 years. Loving father of Ellen (Donald), and Daniel. Wonderful grandfather of Laura (Jason), Cameron (Christine), and great-grandfather to Colton, Gwendylon, Maeve, and upcoming baby boy Cross. Favorite brother of John (Suzanne), Carl (Kathy) and Cameron (Marilyn). Uncle to Bryant (Ann), David (Kerry), Katie (Joe), Jason (Kimya), Heidi, Joey (Lauren), and Jamie (Katherine). Predeceased by his mother Grace (Armstrong), his father Erskine, and his sister-in-law Elke Rodger.

Ross’ life was a testament to his passions and the love he shared with those around him. His remarkable journey as a farmer and devotion for his Ayrshire cows brought him accolades in the farming world, numerous awards, and the honour of judging at the Royal Winter Fair - a feat achieved at a notably young age. Beyond the fields he was an intense sports athlete. His passion for sports was unmistakable. A die-hard supporter of the Montreal Canadiens, he never wavered in loyalty to “his team”. As a partner to Faye, he was exceptional, and his role as a father and grandfather was filled with steadfast support. His three brothers and many friends will feel the absence of his straightforward honesty, quick wit, and memorable insults, all of which leave an enduring mark on their memories. Ross’ legacy is filled with hard-work ethic, love, and joy, and most of all a life embraced with enthusiasm.

A Private Celebration of Ross' Life will take place at a later date. For those wishing to donate in memory of Ross, please consider a donation to The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital Foundation.
