Obituary of Gérard Lucien Gauthier

Gérard Gauthier from St. Bernardin, Ontario passed away peacefully on Monday January 1, 2024, at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of Catherine MacLeod.  Son of the late Henri Gauthier and the late Marie Rose Besner.  Dear brother of Germain (Louise Charon) and Denise (the late Gilles Whissell). Predeceased by his siblings André (the late Juliette), Vincent (the late Simone), Rémi (Thérèse Dupont), Agathe (the late Laurier Wathier), Émerence (the late Joachim Lalonde), Gertrude (the late Rolland Barron), Rachelle (the late Gaétan Souligné). Brother-in-law of Jean MacLeod (the late Donald Ian).

Special uncle to Réjean (Marie Ann), Anne Marie (Clayton), Guy (Lorna), François (Louise). Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, great grand nephews, and friends. 

Gerry was community minded, volunteered on several projects and coached girls’ and boys’ hockey and broomball teams.  The family wishes to thank Hillcrest Funeral Home for their care and concern.  The family also wishes to thank Dr. Youssef (Cornwall), Dr. Ruzicka (Ottawa) and Drs. Simon & Richard McCall (Hawkesbury) A special thanks to the staff at The Palace Long Term Care for their tender loving care. Family and friends are invited to Kenyon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1630 County Road 30, Dunvegan on Saturady June 8, 2024 at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the Caledonia Community Centre, 6900 County Road 22, St-Bernardin, ON.
