Obituary of Ann Jean McRae

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ann McRae (nee MacSweyn), who passed away surrounded by her loving family at The Palace LTC at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Melvin, her son Donald and her siblings Peter Gordon(Tena), Anna Margaret Hay(Alexander) and Donald Hugh.

She will be remembered by her children Ruth (Gordon) and Kenneth (Rhonda).  She was an extraordinary and proud grandmother to Ryan, Cameron, Robyn, Derek, Meghan and Shanna (Christopher) and great grandmother to Oliver, Fiona and Julian.

Ann's life was centered on family and community. She was raised at McCrimmon's Corner in Glengarry and carried those deep ties throughout her life. She treasured attending the annual dances at McCrimmon's Hall.  She found great joy in bringing people together, especially around her table, where her pies and baking were always shared with love.

She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Palace LTC for their kindness and care.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In memory of Ann, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
