Obituary of Andrew (Andy) Katz

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Katz on May 16, 2026, at the age of 67.

Andy’s tenacious character allowed him to defy all medical odds.  Throughout his life he found pleasure in the simple things; time with family, the cottage, trips to Home Depot and ice cream. 

Andrew was the beloved husband of Jennifer Hepburn-Katz and a devoted father to Hunter(Angie), Holden(Brianna), and Mallory. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Remy Trelawny-Katz.

He was predeceased by his parents, Horst Katz and Maria Katz (née Faulstich). Andrew will be lovingly remembered by his brother Robert Katz (Lynne), his in-laws Scott Hepburn (Monica), Ian Hepburn, and Sean Gallagher, and was predeceased by Laurie Hepburn-Gallagher and Grant Hepburn. He will also be dearly missed by nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Anne and the compassionate staff at Montfort Hospital and Ottawa General Hospital for care and support.  Our deep thanks goes to the kindness of friends and neighbours.

A gathering to share memories will be held at a later date.
