Obituary of Margaret Smith

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Smith, who passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 83.

Margaret was born in England on December 31, 1941, to the late John Pounder and Clarice Davis. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred William Smith, and her cherished son, Glenn Steven Smith.

She will be deeply missed by her brother Roy (Jane), and her sisters-in-law Sylvia (late John) and Jacqueline (late Ian). Margaret also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Canada and England, all of whom will remember her warmth, humour, and kindness.

Margaret lived a life filled with passion and curiosity. She loved horses, traveling, and crocheting, and she had a lifelong affection for the music of Elvis Presley.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of The Palace Community Care in Alexandria for their compassion and dedication.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the SPCA in Montreal or to any animal charity of your choice—a cause close to her heart.

Margaret’s love for animals, her generous spirit, and her joyful outlook on life will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
