Obituary of Grant Gordon Fletcher

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Grant Fletcher of Vankleek Hill, On. Grant slipped away peacefully, with family by his side on Sunday, October 19. He leaves in sadness but with wonderful memories his wife, Anne Stewart, his children, Craig (Kathy Carruthers), Anita (Gordon McDonald), his stepdaughters, Meaghan Lyons (William), Rachel Proudfoot (Jarrod Clemens), siblings, Donna (Walter Benson), Garry (Noella McCormick), Billy (Meryl), Marilyn and Barbara (Xavier Sauve), three granddaughters, Brittany Fletcher (Julien Lacroix), Courtney Fletcher, Paige McDonald and one great grandson, Felix Lacroix. He is predeceased by the mother of his children, Donna Barton and his sister Dianna. Grant was employed by Ontario Hydro/Hydro One for 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working with his brother Billy on the farm in Plantagenet and looking after his crops at home.

Grant was a proud Mason, a member and Past Master of Plantagenet Lodge No. 186 in Riceville. Grant had just celebrated 42 years in Masonry. He also enjoyed his time as a past director of the Riceville Agricultural Society.

The family would like to thank the many specialists at the ALS Clinic in Ottawa for their compassionate care. Thank you, John and Ronnie, for your coffee visits and to everyone who helped in so many ways over the last few months.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Fenaghvale Cemetery (6070 County Road 10, Fournier, ON K0B1G0) would be appreciated by the family.

At Grant’s request burial will be private, with internment at Fenaghvale Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at the Caledonia Community Centre (6900 County Rd 22, St-Bernardin, ON K0B 1N0) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
