Obituary of Jean MacCuaig
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jean MacCuaig, who left us on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at the age of 90 years old.
Jean was a devoted and loving mother to Heather, Darren (Celine) and Wayne (Nancy). She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Robin, Shawna, Kate, Cedric, Eleanore and the adored great-grandmother of Kayden, Keegan and Vaill.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ken, her parents William Newton and Alberta McIlwain and her siblings Eileen McNaughton- Elmer, Enid McNaughton-Clifford, Ray Newton and Keith Newton- Tootsie.
She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Pauline, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped care for Jean over the past two years. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at Kirkhill United Church on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Condolences will be received beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Following the service, a sharing of memories will take place at the Dalkeith Community Center at 12:30 p.m., with a reception to follow.
In honour of Jeans’s generous spirit, donations to Maxville Manor or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
A Tree of Remembrance will be planted in Vankleek Hill's McAlpine Forest in memory of Jean.
