Obituary of Rachel Piché

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rachel Piché of Vankleek Hill, who left us peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at the age of 79.

Beloved wife to Gerry, Rachel was the devoted mother to Lynda (Alain), Rick (Tammy), and Lisa (Gerry). She was the proud and cherished Grand-Maman to Nicholas (Anabel), Tanya (Nicolas), Kaitlyn, Victoria, Cole, and Keira, and the adoring great-grandmother to Bo, Amy, Léa, and Théo. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Claude (Colleen), her niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rachel was predeceased by her parents, Ubald and Thérèse Lalande, as well as a brother and sister.

Rachel was a strong, kind, and sweet woman who faced every challenge in life with courage and grace. A passionate sports fan, she could often be found cheering on her favorite teams. She was also always happy to lend a hand at the church, and the curling club.

Her greatest love, however, was her family. She was the embodiment of sweetness and care, always putting others before herself.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Bayshore Home Care for the exceptional care they provided to Rachel in her final days.

A funeral mass will be held at St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze Church, 137 Higginson Street, Vankleek Hill, on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive condolences beginning at 10:30 a.m.

In memory of Rachel, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.

A tree of Remembrance will be planted in memory of Rachel in Vankleek Hill's Forever Forest.  

C'est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Rachel Piché de Vankleek Hill, qui nous a quittés paisiblement, entourée de sa famille aimante, le jeudi 17 juillet 2025, à l'âge de 79 ans.

Épouse bien-aimée de Gerry, Rachel était la mère dévouée de Lynda (Alain), Rick (Tammy) et Lisa (Gerry). Elle était la grand-mère fière et chérie de Nicholas (Anabel), Tanya (Nicolas), Kaitlyn, Victoria, Cole et Keira, et l'arrière-grand-mère adorée de Bo, Amy, Léa et Théo. Son frère Claude (Colleen), ses nièces, ses neveux, ses cousins et ses amis se souviennent également d'elle avec tendresse.
Rachel a été précédée par ses parents, Ubald et Thérèse Lalande, ainsi que par un frère et une sœur.
Rachel était une femme forte, gentille et douce qui a relevé tous les défis de la vie avec courage et élégance. Passionnée de sport, on la trouvait souvent en train d'encourager ses équipes préférées. Elle était également toujours heureuse de donner un coup de main à l'église et au club de curling.
Son plus grand amour, cependant, était sa famille. Elle était la personnification de la douceur et de l'attention, faisant toujours passer les autres avant elle.
La famille souhaite remercier du fond du cœur le personnel compatissant de Soins à domicile Bayshore pour les soins exceptionnels qu'il a prodigués à Rachel dans ses derniers jours.

Une messe funéraire aura lieu en l'Église St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze, 137, rue Higginson, Vankleek Hill, le jeudi 24 juillet 2025, à 11 h. La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 10 h 30.

En mémoire de Rachel, des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient grandement appréciés.

Un arbre du souvenir sera planté à la mémoire de Rachel dans la Forever Forest de Vankleek Hill.
