It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shelly Elliott on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, at the age of 61.Shelly leaves behind her beloved sons, Kyle and Kaine, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by their father, Christopher, her loving mother Marlene Lamond, and her dear sister Terri. Shelly was predeceased by her father, David Lamond, whom she held close in her heart. She will also be deeply missed by her many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an extended circle of friends who cherished her vibrant spirit and kind heart.
To know Shelly was to know a force of nature — fiercely independent, warm, and full of life. Her adventurous soul once led her on a solo road trip across the vast landscapes of Canada, an experience she often spoke of with joy and pride. She had a deep love for people and community, which shone brightly through her efforts in co-founding the beloved Teddy Bear Toss in Oshawa, working with the local hospital to bring comfort and care to children in need. Her legacy in this initiative continues to bring smiles and hope to many.
But above all her accomplishments, Shelly's greatest pride was in being a mother. Her sons were truly her world, and everything she did was rooted in love and dedication to them. Her boundless support, laughter, and unwavering belief in her boys will forever remain in their hearts.
A service will be held in private.
The military was something that meant a lot to Shelly, so donations to Solider On would be greatly appreciated.
A Tree of Remembrance will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest in Shelly's memory.
