Obituary of Ruth Fraser
Peacefully at home, Mrs. Ruth Fraser (née Cunning) of Vankleek Hill passed away on Thursday February 20th, 2025, at the age 88.
Ruth was the cherished wife of the late Ken Fraser and devoted mother to Ian and Sandra. She was a proud and loving Nana to Justin, Josh, and Jenna, and a beloved great-Nana to Arlayah and Skye. Ruth is also survived by her dear sister, Vera Rhode (late Bernard), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all miss her dearly.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff from Bayshore at Home Health for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this time.
Ruth was a woman of many gifts, known for her generosity and creativity. Whether it was baking delicious treats for local fairs, crafting beautiful quilts by hand, or tending to her garden, Ruth poured love and care into everything she did. She also cherished working alongside her daughter at the Trillium Tea Room in Vankleek Hill, where their warm hospitality and exceptional food created a welcoming atmosphere for all who visited.
But above all, Ruth was a remarkable mother, always providing her children with love, encouragement, and steadfast support in everything they pursued. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever remember her as the best Nana, whose kindness, warmth, and love shaped their lives in ways they will never forget.
A service will be held in private.
Donations to the Horticultural Society of Vankleek Hill would be greatly appreciated by the family as Ruth was very fond of beautiful flowers.
A Tree of Remembrance in memory of Ruth will be planted in the McAlpine Forever Forest, in Vankleek Hill.
