Funeral Service
Condolences
The staff at the Dynacare in Carleton Place would like to extend their condolences to all of Bill's family. We are all very sad to see this news. Bill was a regular here for many years. He always came in with a smile and never complained about his health. He had the best giggle and brought smiles to our faces when we heard it. He always left saying "have a good day girls" Bill will be missed by us all.
Having met Bill a few times at family dinners I was always intrigued by our conversations. I especially remember the map of his many worldly travels. I was in awe of how many places he had been and of his amazing career in the navy. Also, the fact that he took on a second distinguished career is remarkable as well. I know that Andrew always speaks very fondly of all his grand parents and said how lucky he was to still enjoy their company. I am sure that both he and my daughter, Gennesse will miss him dearly. I know that Gennesse was also enriched by knowing him and since she lost her grandparents at a very early age, it was extra special to have Bill and his family close by to experience the warmth of that family connection. I am grateful to have met him and extend my condolences to the family.
Sincerely,
Kathy Walker (Gennesse)
Thinking of you Sharon and family during this difficult time. I remember many fishing trips with Dan and Bill growing up. Bill was always joking and laughing, he always took the time to show us and teach us different ways of fishing.

We have planted a Tree of Remembrance in memory of Bill, May it stand as a symbol of love, strength, and remembrance, growing strong, just as his memory will forever remain in our hearts. With deepest sympathy, Diane, Heather and Marvin
A Tree of Remembrance was planted by Mark and Lisa Henderson and the staff of Hillcrest Funeral Home.
To Sharon, Rob, Joan, Family Members & Friends,
The members of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers Association were deeply saddened by the news of Bill’s passing. During his distinguished 23 years career in the Royal Canadian Navy, as an MOC 291 Communicator Research operator / analyst, he made lots of friends. All those who proudly served with Bill, will forever remember the enjoyable times that were shared. Because Bill wanted to remain in contact with his military 291’er buddies, he became a Life Member of our Association.
in the lobby of the Canadian Forces Station Leitrim All Ranks Mess there is a SUPRAD Oldtimers Tree of Life. In memory of Bill, a small bronze cross will now be placed on the leaf that has his name on it. Also, at our 22 June 2025 Annual Reunion - Service of Remembrance, Bill’s name will be read during the service. We will remember him.
Please know that as members of your extended military family, we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
