It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willis Crooks, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the age of 95. Willis passed away at the Prescott Russell Residence in Hawkesbury, Ontario. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Lillian (nee Oswald) in 2004.
Willis will be sadly missed by his sons, Donald (Ginette), Burton (Hilde), Laird (Paula) and his daughters Leanne (John), Liz (Scott). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Ian (Emily), Amy (Matt), Heather (Andrew), Carly, Shannon, Griffin, Amanda and Angela (Jason). Willis was great-grandfather to Olivier and Benjamin, Peyton, Ethan, Logan and Trinity, Luc (Mackenzie), Fallon, Mason and Candice and great-great-grandfather to Benson.
He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Willis was predeceased by his parents Howard and Kitty (Stead), his brother Fred and sisters Elsie (Preece) and Nora (Hamilton).
Willis survived the Great Depression, served Canada in the Navy during WW2, served his community as the Chair of the local school board, and farmed for over 75 years. He treasured his time spent in the bush and was always willing to share his great knowledge of the natural world. He loved his family, poetry, and his little dog Audi. We will miss his great company, long walks, deep talks, and warm hugs.
Due to the current circumstances, a Funeral Service will be held at a later date.
