Obituary of Joy Kingsbury

Kingsbury, Margaret “Joy”

 

Peacefully in hospital following surgery on Friday, March 8, 2019 Joy Kingsbury of Ottawa passed away. Beloved wife of the late Hugh Mahon. Loving sister of Ann Turner (Hugh). Devoted aunt of Brian Turner (Jennifer) and Donna-Lynn Turner ( Lara). Great aunt of Patrick and Chloé Turner.
Joy was a graduate of Queens and Ottawa Universities. Her teaching career began at Almonte High School and then she taught at Woodroffe and Brookfield High Schools. Joy loved skiing at Mont Tremblant, travelling , gardening , listening to the CBC and looking after her cat. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to the caring I CU staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations to the  Ottawa Civic Hospital Foundation, Ottawa Humane Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, Ontario on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 1 pm followed by a Celebration of Joy’s Life in the chapel at 2 pm. Reception to  follow in the funeral home. Spring interment Greenwood Cemetery, Vankleek Hill, Ontario.
